Werribee Park Mansion

Discover the Victorian era in Australia with a visit to beautiful Chirnside Mansion better known as Werribee Park Mansion.

Werribee Mansion was completed by wealthy pastoralists, the Chirnside family in 1877. Built in the Italianate architecture style, Werribee Mansion boasts 60 rooms in several wings. Following extensive restoration, many of the Chirnside family's items, including clothing, furniture remain on display.

Experience the grandeur of the Werribee Mansion. Enjoy a picnic or explore the formal gardens and marvel at the expansive manicured landscape, intricately designed grotto and ornamental lake.

Once the working heart of the Werribee Park estate, the remaining bluestone outbuildings of the farmyard provide a stark contrast to the elaborate craftsmanship of the Chirnside Mansion. Wander down to the heritage orchard and see the work the community and Parks Victoria have put in to preserve and restore the fruit orchard originally planted by the Chirnside family in the late 1800s.

Located just 30 minutes from Melbourne by car, Werribee Park is so easy to get to and entry to the gardens is free.

Get to Werribee Park from Geelong on the Princess Freeway (M1). Take the exit to Werribee, stay on Princes Highway (follow the signs) then turn right into Duncans Road, and right at K Road.
