Pet Medical Crisis Fund |
Pet Medical Crisis is an Australian charity where no vulnerable family suffers the distress of losing their pet due to financial hardship
We act with compassion to make timely lifesaving support available to families. We break down barriers to critical vet care in times of crisis to prevent suffering and loss.
We alleviate financial and emotional distress for vulnerable families facing hardship by providing timely access to resources, subsidised critical veterinary care and personalised one-on-one support.
We are a registered charity with Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) status. All donations over $2 are tax deductible.
Starting in 2010 after the founder's Border Collie Jed ruptured 3 discs in his back chasing seagulls - and ran up $35,000 in veterinary costs over 3 years. The charity was established to assist pensioners to have the chance to save their loved pets. By 2019 the charity had raised over $460K to assist over 515 pensioner's pets with treatments to return home to their loved owners.
The charity typically assists pensioners who have no means of affording veterinary care:
-:- Aged pensioners,
-:- those on DSP,
-:- with disabled children,
-:- with mental health issues,
-:- pensioners with chronic health issues etc
