Our spectacular Floating Christmas Tree will return to the bay with Sound and Light Shows staged nightly from 8.30pm.
Come and visit the tree and witness the spectacular sound and light show in-person.
Shows
Geelong's famous 10-tonne floating Christmas Tree, sound and light show will be staged each night between 8:30pm and midnight. The shows are approximately six minutes in length and play every 15 minutes.
There are two shows to enjoy:
-:- 30 November - 25 December 2024
-:- 26 December 2024 - 7 January 2025
Make sure you make plans to see them all. Each has a different light show and music production worth catching!
The tree is 25 metres tall, four-metres wide and gently rotates with the wind direction. It is made up of 400 LED lights and 25,000 reflective discs and moored at Steampacket Quay, Waterfront Geelong, near the Carousel.
This is the 10th year of Geelong's Floating Christmas Tree!

Community members are encouraged to block the evening of Saturday 30 November out in their calendars for the opening night of our Christmas in Geelong program.
Family-Friendly Sound and Light Show
Two Saturday's in December
Enjoy a special evening experience at Geelong's magical Carousel. Ride the horses, participate in craft and enjoy the Christmas atmosphere.
In addition to The Carousel's planned activities, you will also be able to experience the family-friendly Sound and Light show on our iconic floating Christmas tree.
Ticketing
Bookings not required, entry into the Carousel pavilion is free. Those wishing to enjoy a ride on the Carousel will need to purchase a ticket onsite.
This event is proudly presented by the City of Greater Geelong as part of the Christmas in Geelong program.
